ECOTOX is looking for a postdoctoral researcher; this is a full-time position (40 h/week), starting by July 2020.

It is a fix term contract for 3 years (6 months trial period) and with a salary up to 35.000 € /year (gross pay), depending on qualification.

KEY RESULTS JPI OCEANS MICROPLASTICS PROJECTS 2016-2019

"The first call of the JPI Ocean's joint action 'Ecological aspects of microplastics in the marine environment' resulted in the funding of four microplastics research projects: BASEMAN, EPHEMARE, PLASTOX and WEATHER-MIC."

The faecal sink that drowns Praia América and the outfall of the Miñor river

New article published in the galician press, where it mentions some data obtained by Prof. Ricardo Beiras and his team on the environmental situation of the outfall of the Miñor river, which are already reflected in a report disclosed in another previous post of this same blog.

According to Prof. Beiras, the inadequacy of treatment of water sewage turned this space into an outdoor sewer.

Interview with Ricardo Beiras on the radio show "La Brújula de Galicia" at Onda Cero Radio

The interview dealt with the effects of microplastics in the marine environment and some of the conclusions obtained in the European EPHEMARE project, coordinated by the ECOTOX group and recently completed. The interview (in Gallician language), which starts at 5'20'' from the beginning of the broadcast and ends at 19'55'' (it is in Galician).
